We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the Seaford Down’s Syndrome and Special Needs Support Group has been awarded a fantastic £15,661 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund!
This generous funding is a game-changer for our charity. It will directly support several of our most vital services, ensuring we can continue to provide safe, welcoming, and fun environments for our families and young people.
Here is exactly how this incredible £15,661 grant is being put to use:
- Family Drop-in Sessions: The grant secures our ongoing Hall Hire and covers our Sensory Music costs. It also provides dedicated support for our seasonal themed activities, meaning we can plan even more creative and engaging sessions for the children.
- S.E.N. Youth Club: We now have fully funded Hall Hire for our Friday night Youth Club, securing a consistent, safe space for our young adults to socialize and build their independence.
- Swimming Programme: This funding covers both our ongoing Pool Hire and our professional Instructor Hire, allowing us to keep these essential weekend sessions running smoothly for swimmers of all abilities.
- Annual Christmas Party: We have received dedicated funding to make our end-of-year celebration extra special for all our families!
While the tireless support from our community – especially through our local coffee fundraising sales and Christmas charity raffles – has always been the lifeblood of our group, this grant provides a tremendous level of security. It means we can focus our energy on what truly matters: supporting our young people, giving them the best experiences possible, and being there for our parents and carers.
