Local Chambers of Commerce Support Our Mission with Generous £2,000 Donation.
Earlier this year, we received a delightful surprise when Annie Lorys, Vice President of the Newhaven Chamber of Commerce (NCC), reached out to let us know we had been selected as their local Charity of the Year for the Seahaven Business Awards.
The SBAs are organised by Newhaven Chamber, in association with Seaford Chamber and Peacehaven & Telscombe Chamber of Commerce. Every year, a local cause is chosen to benefit from their annual Awards Ceremony & Dinner raffle. This year’s prestigious event took place on May 8th at the Amex Stadium, hosting 160 guests. Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who attended, the raffle raised a fantastic £2,000 to help support our daily running costs. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Elite Industries, whose generous contribution made up £600 of that total!
To officially present the cheque and see our work in action, NCC President Mike Shorer and Vice President Annie Lorys joined us at our June Drop-In session. While local traffic gave everyone a bit of a headache that day -resulting in a smaller turnout than usual – it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits or stop the fun.
A massive thank you to all three local Chambers and everyone who attended the Seahaven Business Awards and Elite Industries for their incredible generosity, their time, and their ongoing support for what we do!
