Eastbourne Marathon

Adrian Campbell, member of the Seaford Striders and Seaford town Councillor presented Seaford Down’s Syndrome and Special Needs Support Group with a cheque for £300.

Adrian Campbell, ran his 12th Marathon in October last year (2012) to raise funds for the Mayor’s charities – Seaford Down’s Syndrome and Special Needs Support Group and St. James’ Trust.

The marathon started in Eastbourne at Hollywell and took in the views of Friston Forest, Jevington, Alfriston, BoPeep, Seaford, Cuckmere Haven, The Seven Sisters and finally finished back in Eastbourne.

Adrian completed the grueling marathon in just under four hours, with a time of 3hrs 58mins.

Adrian said:

“I have run 11 marathons to date and this will be the third time I have run the Beachy Head Marathon. It’s my favorite one as it’s all off road and very cenic, albeit very hilly!”

Adrian has previously raised £600 for the Mayor’s charity WAVES Family Support Service in 2011, whilst running the Berlin Marathon.

Councillor Campbell visited the February 2013 Family Drop-In to meet the gang and also to present us with a fantastic cheque for £300.

On behalf of the Seaford Down’s Syndrome and Special Needs Support Group – thank you!
